PKRM Northern Zone draws 655 participants in Kulim community programme

KULIM, 6 September 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Program Komuniti Rakyat MADANI (PKRM) Northern Zone brought together 655 participants in a community-focused programme at Padang Awam, Taman Bayam, here.

Organised by the Department of Community Communications (J-KOM), the programme was officiated by J-KOM Director-General YBrs. Tuan Mohd Hisyamuddin bin Ghazali and aimed to strengthen engagement between the Government and the local community through various services and activities.

The Ministry of Home Affairs (KDN) also participated through the National Anti-Drug Agency (AADK), Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), Malaysian Volunteers Corps Department (RELA) and Prisons Department Malaysia.

Among the services and activities offered were information exhibitions, PDRM traffic summons checking and payment services, as well as free haircuts provided by RELA personnel.

The 655 participants comprised 508 general programme participants, 36 participants in the Kabaddi competition, 75 in the colouring competition and 36 in the silat programme.

The event also featured Jualan Rahmah MADANI, a Fun Walk, community aerobics, colouring and Kabaddi competitions, silat performances and various recreational activities.

The programme served as a platform for government agencies to bring their services closer to the people while encouraging community participation and strengthening interaction between government representatives and residents.
