KUALA LUMPUR, June 3– PLUS Malaysia Berhad (PLUS) expects nearly 2.2 million vehicles daily on its expressway network as city dwellers return after the festive holidays, from tomorrow until Sunday.
PLUS said the increase will involve a combination of long-distance travel and intercity movements towards the Klang Valley following the end of the Aidiladha holidays, overlapping festive celebrations and the school holidays.
“Motorists are advised to follow the MyPLUS Travel Time Advisory (MyPLUS-TTA), which can be accessed via the PLUS app, and to plan their return journeys according to the recommended travel times. This is important to help balance traffic flow and reduce congestion at key hotspots along the expressways,” it said in a statement today.
To manage the surge in vehicles, PLUS will also activate Smart Lanes at 33 hotspot locations along its expressways, while ensuring that public amenities at Rest and Service Areas (R&R) and lay-bys, including food and beverage outlets, operate 24 hours.
Members of the public can contact PLUSLine at 1800-88-0000 or LPT2Line at 1800-88-0220 if they require emergency assistance.— BERNAMA
