Rhythm of Kinabalu 2026 Showcases Sabah Arts and Culture

KOTA KINABALU, 3 October 2026 (The Capital Post) – Preparations for Rhythm of Kinabalu (ROK) 2026 gathered 156 participants and artists at Padang Merdeka as the annual programme prepares to showcase Sabah’s arts, culture and local creative talent.

Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) Secretary-General Dato’ Shaharuddin bin Abu Sohot attended the programme rehearsal on 2 October to observe preparations and support the performers and arts practitioners involved.

Organised by Jabatan Kebudayaan dan Kesenian Negara (JKKN) Sabah, ROK serves as an annual platform to promote and preserve the state’s artistic and cultural heritage.

The programme also provides opportunities for local practitioners to showcase their talent, creativity and cultural traditions to the public.

A total of 156 participants and artists took part in the rehearsal ahead of the official opening of ROK 2026 at Padang Merdeka on 3 October.

Also present were JKKN Director-General Mohd Amran bin Mohd Harris and senior MOTAC officials.
