Sarawak Cancer Centre project moves into tender stage

KUCHING, 7 July 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Sarawak Cancer Centre project in Samarahan has progressed into the tender stage, marking another milestone in the strategic collaboration between the Federal Government and the Sarawak Government to strengthen Malaysia’s healthcare services.

Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi chaired a tender briefing and conducted a site visit on Tuesday to provide prospective bidders with a clearer understanding of the project’s design-and-build scope as well as the construction site, with the aim of ensuring quality implementation and value for money.

Also present were Ministry of Health Senior Development Division Secretary Datin Paduka Roslinah Md Jani and Public Works Department (JKR) Health Works Branch Director Ir. Norzani Mahmood.

Once completed, the 310-bed Sarawak Cancer Centre will offer comprehensive oncology services, including outpatient and inpatient care, diagnostic services, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, stem cell transplantation and cellular therapy.

The integrated facility is expected to enhance cancer diagnosis and treatment capabilities in Sarawak by providing a comprehensive range of services under one roof, benefiting patients across the state.
