Earlier in the day, he went to Kuala Klawang to help campaign for Perikatan Nasional’s Danni Rais.

Danni, the son of former Dewan Negara president Tan Sri Rais Yatim, was making his political debut in the state election and is vying for the Klawang seat. Also present was Rais.

Khairy, the former health minister, had also accompanied Danni to several places in the area to talk with voters.

The 36-year-old Danni is state Perikatan Youth chief.

He is up against incumbent Datuk Bakri Sawir, of Amanah, who also happens to be his first cousin.

Later, Khairy headed to Sg Lui where he went to campaign for Barisan Nasional’s incumbent Mohd Razi Mohd Ali.

He also helped in a gotong royong effort to make dodol cair with the candidate at Kg Felda Lui Muda.

Mohd Razi will be challenged by Perikatan’s Mohd Nordin Hasim in a straight fight.

Both the Klawang and Sg Lui seats are under the Jelebu parliamentary constituency.

On Thursday (Aug 10), Khairy had also campaigned for Barisan’s candidate for Bertam, Datuk Reezal Merican Naina Merican.

Popularly known as KJ, he said he was doing so merely for a close friend while making his stance clear that the support was not meant for Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi

Reezal Merican will be contesting against Perikatan Nasional incumbent Khaliq Mehtab Mohd Ishaq.

On Aug 9, Khairy went down to the ground in Selangor to support the campaign of Perikatan’s Jeram candidate Datuk Harrison Hassan.

Harrison, the former Sungai Buloh Umno division deputy chief, had his membership automatically revoked after he announced that he would be contesting in Jeram on Perikatan’s ticket.
