Tragic Discovery: Mother and Son Found Dead at Kedah Home

SUNGAI PETANI, KEDAH 24 March 2026 (The Capital Post) – An elderly woman and her son were found dead in their home in Kampung Zainol Abidin, Bedong, Kuala Muda, yesterday evening.

Kuala Muda police chief ACP Hanyan Ramlan said the victims were a man in his 40s and his mother in her 70s. Authorities received a report at 6:05 pm, and initial inspections showed no injuries caused by sharp objects. The house was locked from the inside, prompting police to break in, where the bodies were discovered in the living room and kitchen.

“The victims are believed to have died more than 48 hours prior to the discovery, and the case is currently classified as a sudden death report (SDR) pending post-mortem results,” ACP Hanyan added. A post-mortem examination is scheduled to determine the cause of death.
