JOHOR, July 11, 2026 (The Capital Post) – Former Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Dr. Sahruddin Jamal has failed to retain the Bukit Kepong state seat after being defeated by Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate Ahmad Syarie Yusof in the 2026 Johor State Election.
The defeat sees BN reclaim the Bukit Kepong constituency, which was won by Perikatan Nasional (PN) in the 2022 Johor State Election, delivering a significant setback to PN in one of the state’s closely watched seats.

Sahruddin, who is also the Johor Bersatu State Leadership Chief, previously won the Bukit Kepong seat in the 2022 state election with a majority of 710 votes. — The Capital Post
