594 PDRM personnel showcase discipline and professionalism at National Day parade

PUTRAJAYA, 1 September 2026 (The Capital Post) – The disciplined march of 594 Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) personnel captured attention as the Sang Saka Biru contingent passed the main stage during the 2026 National Day celebrations at Dataran Putrajaya on Monday morning.

Displaying uniformity, agility and strong patriotic spirit, the participation of the Sang Saka Biru contingent not only added to the celebrations but also reflected the discipline, professionalism and dedication of PDRM personnel in upholding their responsibility to safeguard the nation’s peace, security and sovereignty.

The PDRM contingent was led by Director of the Department of Internal Security and Public Order, CP Dato’ Sri Mohd Yusri Hj. Hassan Basri, who rode the white horse Al-Sakb alongside 20 officers from the Mounted Unit and Federal Reserve Unit (FRU) as the lead formation.

PDRM’s diverse areas of expertise were also showcased through a working dress detachment comprising 126 officers and personnel representing General Duties, the Tourist Police Unit, United Nations missions and the Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department.

Also featured was an operational attire detachment involving 192 officers and personnel from the General Duties Unit, Marine Police, Air Operations Force, Light Strike Force, Infantry of the General Operations Force (PGA), Senoi Praaq, 69 Commando and the Special Actions Unit (UTK), highlighting PDRM’s operational readiness and capabilities in addressing various security challenges.

Adding significance to the parade, 43 retired police personnel led by DSP Hj. Senen Dollah marched alongside the Sang Saka Biru contingent, symbolising that the end of their service has never diminished their spirit, contributions and love for the Force and country.

The parade was further accompanied by 90 personnel from the PDRM Central Band and the Kedah Police Contingent Headquarters Band, led by Superintendent Mohd Fadzillah Mohd Nor together with Drum Major Corporal Mohamad Fahrul Redza Ramlan @ Ramzan.

The contingent’s capabilities were further demonstrated through 40 vehicle assets, one helicopter, 16 K9 dogs and 10 newly acquired All Terrain Tactical Assault E-Bikes (ATEB) belonging to PGA, which were displayed as part of PDRM’s operational readiness.

The entire contingent passed the main stage in front of His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Ibrahim, and Her Majesty the Raja Permaisuri Agong, Raja Zarith Sofiah.

Held under the theme “Malaysia MADANI: Kesejahteraan Dinikmati”, the 69th National Day celebrations were also witnessed by Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim and his wife, Dato’ Seri Dr. Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, Cabinet ministers, Inspector-General of Police IG Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Hj. Mohd Khalid Hj. Ismail and the senior leadership of PDRM.
