KAZAN, 19 June 2026 (The Capital Post) – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has concluded his participation in the ASEAN–Russia Commemorative Summit in Kazan before continuing his official visit to Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.
According to a post on his official Facebook page, Anwar Ibrahim said the visit had achieved its intended objectives, particularly in strengthening Malaysia’s bilateral relations with the Russian Federation and expanding strategic cooperation between ASEAN and Russia across multiple key sectors.
He expressed appreciation to Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Republic of Tatarstan and all parties involved for the warm reception extended to the Malaysian delegation throughout the visit.

Anwar also extended his gratitude to the Malaysian delegation, ministry officials, the Malaysian Embassy in Moscow, security personnel and members of the media for their contributions in ensuring the smooth conduct of the official programme in Kazan.
He added that the engagements held during the summit were significant in further reinforcing regional cooperation and fostering stronger diplomatic ties amid evolving global challenges. – The Capital Post
