Kuala Lumpur, 27 June 2026 (The Capital Post) – The importance of safeguarding racial and religious harmony took centre stage at the Harmony Symposium 2026, where participants exchanged ideas on strengthening national unity in an increasingly digital society.

According to a post on the official Facebook page of Kementerian Perpaduan Negara, the symposium served as a platform for constructive dialogue, bringing together diverse perspectives to discuss ways of reinforcing social cohesion and preserving Malaysia’s multicultural harmony.

The programme featured discussions on several contemporary issues, including freedom of speech, the influence of social media algorithms, and the future of national unity in the digital age. Participants explored approaches to ensure harmony remains a key pillar of Malaysia’s continued development.

The ministry emphasised that unity is built not merely through words, but through the willingness of Malaysians to listen, understand and respect one another despite differences in race, religion and culture.
