PUTRAJAYA, 11 August 2026 (The Capital Post) – Ministry of National Unity Secretary-General YBhg. Dato’ Haslina binti Abdul Hamid attended the 2026 Public Sector Workforce Symposium (SPSA 2026), which focused on preparing the public service workforce for a changing employment landscape.
Themed “Exploring the Future of Public Sector Employment”, SPSA 2026 examined key developments shaping the future of work, including artificial intelligence (AI), demographic changes, the green economy, geopolitical uncertainties and rising public expectations of government service delivery.
The changing employment landscape requires the public service to remain adaptive, competitive and focused on human capabilities to improve productivity.
The symposium also emphasised that the strength of the public sector depends not only on technology and systems, but also on the quality, competency and integrity of public servants, as well as good governance, transparency and compliance with the law.

The Public Service Department (JPA), as the organiser of the symposium, continues to strengthen public service capabilities through more strategic and skills-based workforce planning that is prepared to address global changes and support the delivery of quality services to the public.
