Kota Bharu, 28 June 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Ministry of Health (KKM) has called for the expedited completion of the new Wakaf Che Yeh Health Clinic project following delays that resulted in the termination of the original contractor.
According to a post on the official Facebook page of KEMENTERIAN KESIHATAN MALAYSIA, Ministry of Health Secretary-General YBhg. Datuk Seri Hj. Hasnol Zam Zam Hj. Ahmad began a two-day official working visit to Kelantan with an inspection of the Klinik Kesihatan (Type 3) Wakaf Che Yeh project.
The new facility is being built to replace the existing health clinic, which has been serving the community since 1963 and currently records an average of between 200 and 300 patients daily.
During the visit, Hasnol Zam Zam said the project had experienced delays and that the contractor’s appointment had been terminated after failing to comply with the implementation schedule.

He stressed that the Public Works Department (JKR) should expedite the appointment of a rescue contractor, ensure sufficient water supply planning, including adequate tube well capacity, and draw lessons from the project to improve future tender evaluations so that quality healthcare facilities can be delivered to the public without unnecessary delays.
