The presentation also highlighted the legal actions and internal disciplinary proceedings taken against officers involved, as well as ongoing improvements to ageing prison facilities, inmates’ welfare and healthcare, and the professionalism of prison personnel to ensure accountability and operational integrity.

KDN and the Malaysian Prisons Department also stressed that the incident should not overshadow the dedication and professionalism of prison officers who continue to carry out their responsibilities under challenging conditions in safeguarding correctional institutions and public safety.

According to a post on the official Facebook page of Kementerian Dalam Negeri (KDN), both KDN and the Malaysian Prisons Department will continue enhancing prison management, upholding justice, protecting human dignity and strengthening national security through continuous institutional improvements. – The Capital Post.
