MELAKA, 22 July 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Attorney General’s Chambers (AGC) has strengthened collaboration with enforcement agencies through the 2026 Anti-Trafficking in Persons and Anti-Smuggling of Migrants (ATIPSOM) Prosecution Coordination Workshop to enhance the enforcement of Malaysia’s anti-trafficking laws.
Organised by the Prosecution Division and chaired by Head of the Prosecution Division Datuk Masri Mohd Daud, the two-day workshop brought together 74 participants from the AGC, the National Strategic Office of the Council for Anti-Trafficking in Persons and Anti-Smuggling of Migrants (NSO MAPO), the Ministry of Home Affairs, the judiciary, State Directors of Prosecution, the Royal Malaysian Customs Department, the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency, the Immigration Department and other enforcement agencies.
The workshop focused on strengthening policy coordination, prosecution and enforcement under the Anti-Trafficking in Persons and Anti-Smuggling of Migrants Act 2007 (Act 670). Discussions included the US TIP Report 2024/2025, the implementation of the Kinabalu Resolution 2025 on standard operating procedures under Sections 61A, 66A and 66B of Act 670, as well as legal, operational and appeal-related challenges faced by prosecutors and enforcement agencies.

The programme concluded with the presentation of the Tuah Resolution 2026, outlining key findings, agreed measures and follow-up actions to improve the coordination of ATIPSOM prosecution and enforcement nationwide.
