TANJUNG MALIM 3 August 2026, (The Capital Post) – National automotive manufacturer PROTON continues to strengthen Malaysia’s automotive industry through expanded local manufacturing capabilities and technology development initiatives.
During a working visit by the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry Malaysia (MITI) to Tanjung Malim, PROTON highlighted its future business direction while marking the commencement of local production for the Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT) and Electric Drive Unit (EDU) at its Powertrain Plant.
The milestone represents a significant advancement in PROTON’s efforts to enhance domestic automotive capabilities, strengthen the local supply chain ecosystem, and develop expertise in advanced vehicle technologies.
