KUALA LUMPUR, 14 August 2026 (The Capital Post) – The ASEAN-China Heritage Dimensions of National Arts (ACH-DNA) 2.0 programme is strengthening cultural ties between ASEAN and China through art, textiles, creativity and technological innovation.
Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture YB Tuan Chiew Choon Man attended the ASEAN-China “Silken Ties Textile” Gala and Fashion Show at Menara Kuala Lumpur on 12 August, which marked the culmination of the ACH-DNA 2.0 programme.
The Silken Ties Textile Showcase featured ASEAN and Chinese textile heritage through traditional weaving and contemporary designs, combining traditional arts, creativity and technological innovation, including artificial intelligence (AI).
The showcase also aimed to promote cultural exchanges and strengthen people-to-people ties between ASEAN and China, while connecting cultural heritage with the development of the creative industry and regional economy.
ACH-DNA 2.0 is a flagship programme held in conjunction with Malaysia’s Chairmanship of the ASEAN Ministers Responsible for Culture and Arts (AMCA) for the 2024–2026 period.

The programme also reinforces Malaysia’s role as the Country Coordinator for the ASEAN-China Dialogue Relations for 2024–2027.
Also present was MOTAC Secretary-General YBhg. Dato’ Shaharuddin bin Abu Sohot, senior management of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC), ambassadors and creative industry players from ASEAN countries and China.
According to a post on the official Facebook page of Kementerian Pelancongan, Seni dan Budaya Malaysia, the showcase highlighted the shared cultural heritage of ASEAN and China while promoting creativity, innovation and regional cultural cooperation. – The Capital Post
