ADTEC JTM graduates strengthen Malaysia’s high-skilled workforce through TVET

KEPALA BATAS, Penang, 17 August 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Ministry of Human Resources (KESUMA) continues to strengthen the national Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) agenda through the 29th ADTEC JTM Northern Region Convocation Ceremony 2026, held from 15 to 16 August at Dewan Mutiara Bertam, ADTEC JTM Kepala Batas Campus.

A total of 1,741 graduates from seven JTM institutions in the Northern Region were celebrated through three certificate and diploma award sessions. The ceremony involved graduates from JMTI as well as ADTEC JTM campuses in Kepala Batas, Nibong Tebal, Perai, Kulim, Jitra and Kangar.

For Sessions 1 and 3, the addresses and presentations were officiated by YBrs. Encik Sutekno Bin Ahmad Belon, Deputy Secretary-General (Operations), Ministry of Human Resources (KESUMA).

Held under the theme “Skilled Graduates, Drivers of National Progress”, the convocation reflects KESUMA’s commitment to strengthening TVET as an education and career pathway capable of producing highly skilled, competitive and technology-responsive workers.

TVET graduates are equipped not only with technical competencies but also digital skills, critical thinking and the ability to solve complex problems to meet current industry requirements.

Through JTM, KESUMA is also focusing on improving training quality, digitalising learning and strengthening strategic collaboration with industry to ensure training remains relevant to technological developments and labour market needs.

The graduates’ achievements are further supported by industry partnerships, including cooperation in cybersecurity, technology sharing, industrial training and competency development.

According to a post on the official Facebook page of Kementerian Sumber Manusia, the initiative reflects continued efforts to strengthen TVET and develop a highly skilled workforce capable of contributing to industry and national development. – The Capital Post
