KUALA LUMPUR, 8 September 2026 (The Capital Post) – Malaysia will chair the 17th ASEAN Health Ministers Meeting (AHMM) in Kuala Lumpur over five days, bringing together health ministers from across the region to discuss key health issues and strengthen regional cooperation.
Health Minister YB Datuk Seri Dr. Dzulkefly Ahmad inspected preparations for the meeting, including the main AHMM meeting room and exhibition spaces featuring divisions and agencies under the Ministry of Health Malaysia (KKM).
The main ministerial meeting is scheduled to take place on Thursday.
During his visit, Dzulkefly also met personnel involved in preparing and managing the meeting.
He expressed his appreciation for their commitment and efforts to ensure preparations for the 17th AHMM proceed smoothly.

The meeting serves as a key platform for ASEAN health ministers to discuss regional health issues and strengthen cooperation and coordination in the health sector.
Dzulkefly was accompanied by KKM Deputy Director-General of Health (Public Health) YBrs. Dr. Ismuni bin Bohari; Disease Control Division Director YBrs. Dr. Noraryana binti Hassan; and Policy and International Relations Division Deputy Secretary YBrs. Dr. Ainul Nadziha binti Mohd Hanafiah.
According to a post on the official Facebook page of the Ministry of Health Malaysia, Malaysia’s chairmanship of the 17th AHMM will provide a platform to strengthen regional health cooperation and coordination among ASEAN member states. – The Capital Post
