NANNING, 20 September 2026 (The Capital Post) – Malaysia is strengthening ASEAN-China cultural cooperation and the regional creative economy through a new initiative that transforms traditional textile and craft heritage into opportunities for innovation and collaboration.
ASEAN-China Heritage: Dimensions of National Arts 2.0 (ACH-DNA 2.0) was launched in Nanning, China, on Saturday (19 September) in conjunction with CAEXPO 2026.
The programme was officially launched by Tourism, Arts and Culture Ministry (MOTAC) Deputy Secretary-General (Culture) YBhg. Dato’ Mohd Yusri Mohd Yusoff.
Held under the theme “Reimagining Heritage Through Innovation”, ACH-DNA 2.0 brings together cultural practitioners, designers and creative talents from the region.
Building on the programme’s earlier momentum in Kuala Lumpur, the initiative explores how ASEAN’s textile and craft heritage can generate new opportunities for creativity, cross-border collaboration and the regional creative economy.

The programme also highlights the role of culture in strengthening connections between ASEAN and China while providing a platform for traditional heritage to be reinterpreted through contemporary innovation.
MOTAC acknowledged the support of the People’s Republic of China, ASEAN Secretariat, ASEAN-China Cultural Fund (ACCF), SCS, MATRADE, Tourism Malaysia and other partners involved in the initiative.
According to a post on the official Facebook page of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia, ACH-DNA 2.0 seeks to use heritage and innovation to deepen ASEAN-China cultural cooperation and support the creative economy. – The Capital Post
