SABAH & SARAWAK, 28 September 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Ministry of Works (KKR) has reviewed progress on several major infrastructure projects involving the Pan Borneo Highway (LPB) Sabah Phase 1A and the Sarawak-Sabah Link Road (SSLR) 1 and SSLR2.
KKR Secretary-General Dato’ Seri Azman bin Ibrahim conducted a site visit on 27 September to assess current progress and issues affecting the implementation of the strategic projects.
The visit began at the LPB Sabah Phase 1A project sites involving Package WP01 Sindumin-Kampung Melalia and WP02 Kampung Melalia-Beaufort.
Azman later visited SSLR1 at Bridge 1 (CH3+550) before inspecting Package 4B of SSLR2 at the tunnel portal.
The visits included project briefings and on-site inspections to provide a clearer assessment of construction progress and challenges faced during implementation.

KKR said the site inspections form part of efforts by the ministry’s senior management to ensure major infrastructure projects are implemented smoothly and in accordance with approved schedules, specifications and standards.
Also present were Sabah Ministry of Works and Utilities Permanent Secretary Datuk Ridhwan Linus @ Roger Linus, Sabah Federal Secretary Datuk Mohd Razali bin Wahab, Sabah Public Works Department Director Baharuhom bin K.K. Sogon, Sarawak Public Works Department Highway Development Branch Senior Principal Assistant Director Haji Indra Sakti bin Haron, as well as representatives from federal and state agencies, ministries and departments.
