SEGAMAT, 28 September 2026 (The Capital Post) – A total of 408 Border Control Officers are set to begin duties at Malaysia’s entry points and borders after completing the Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS) Basic Officer Course Series 1/2026.
The graduation ceremony was officiated by Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Dr. Shamsul Azri bin Abu Bakar at PULAPOL Segamat, Johor, on 27 September.
The group made history as the first intake appointed under AKPS’ new service scheme, forming part of efforts to strengthen the country’s border control and protection capabilities.
The officers completed three months of training designed to prepare them for operational responsibilities in the field.

The programme focused on building the knowledge, discipline and resilience required to carry out border enforcement duties and responsibilities to the public and the country.
Also present were Home Ministry Secretary-General Datuk Dr. Awang Alik bin Jeman, Deputy Inspector-General of Police DIG Datuk Seri Abdul Aziz bin Abdul Majid and AKPS Director-General CP Dato’ Sri Mohd Shuhaily bin Mohd Zain.
According to a post on the official Facebook page of Kementerian Dalam Negeri (KDN), the 408 officers represent the first appointment under the new AKPS service scheme and will play a role in strengthening Malaysia’s border security – The Capital Post
