KUALA LUMPUR, 25 May 2026 (The Capital Post) — Public sector leaders have been urged to move beyond conventional approaches and lead digital transformation efforts driven by artificial intelligence (AI) to ensure Malaysia remains competitive in the rapidly evolving global landscape.

The message was highlighted during the AI Leadership Programme for Senior Public Sector Management held at the Asia School of Business, Kuala Lumpur, which gathered top public service leadership to strengthen understanding, governance and national preparedness in facing the increasingly competitive AI ecosystem.

According to the organisers, AI is no longer merely about technology, but also about building public trust, accelerating service delivery and strengthening the nation’s future.

In line with the aspiration of “Accelerating Implementation, Intensifying Reforms”, civil servants were encouraged to become AI Champions and Digital Transformation Drivers to ensure Malaysia continues to remain relevant, competitive and capable of leading change responsibly.
