MOSCOW, 18 June 2026 (The Capital Post) – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim attended the gala dinner held in conjunction with the ASEAN-Russia Commemorative Summit, hosted by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
According to a Facebook post by Anwar Ibrahim, the event showcased Russia’s rich history and cultural heritage, including presentations reflecting the diversity of traditions and the contributions of Islamic civilisation in shaping the country’s identity.
Anwar said the gathering also served as an important platform for strengthening friendships and exchanging views with regional leaders in attendance.
He noted that amid growing global challenges and uncertainties, such engagements play a crucial role in enhancing mutual understanding, building trust and exploring new areas of cooperation between ASEAN member states and Russia.
