PUTRAJAYA, Monday 15 June 2026 (The Capital Post) – Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim received a courtesy visit from the Secretary-General of the Muslim World League, Sheikh Dr Mohammad bin Abdulkarim Alissa, in Putrajaya this afternoon to exchange views on developments in the Muslim world and efforts to strengthen interfaith understanding.
According to information shared via the official Facebook page of Anwar Ibrahim, the meeting discussed the success of the 3rd International Religious Leaders Summit held recently in Kuala Lumpur, which brought together religious leaders, scholars and community figures from various backgrounds and countries.
The discussion also highlighted the importance of the platform in fostering mutual understanding, reducing divisions, and promoting a more mature culture of dialogue among different faith communities.
Sheikh Dr Alissa also shared views on Malaysia’s role in strengthening relations between the Muslim world and the international community, including efforts to build bridges of understanding between the East and the West.

The Prime Minister expressed appreciation for the Muslim World League’s continued role in promoting moderation, peace, and interfaith cooperation amid rising global conflicts and tensions.
Both sides further discussed the importance of strengthening the Muslim world through education, economic development, knowledge, and technology, while upholding values of justice, compassion, and universal humanity.
