Bersatu Youth information chief Mohd Ashraf Mustaqim Badrul Munir said the police reports would be lodged against for Anwar for allegedly insulting the King.

“The police reports will be lodged by Bersatu Youth wings nationwide today.

“We feel that his actions insulted the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdulllah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah.

“If indeed he has the majority support of MPs to become the prime minister, he should have given the full list of names of those who supported him,” he told a press conference after lodging a police report against Anwar at Dang Wangi police headquarters on Wednesday (Oct 14).

Anwar’s actions over the past few weeks have impacted the country’s economy, whereby the stock market became unstable, he added.

“During a time where the rakyat is facing the Covid-19 pandemic, his actions have caused more problems for the country.

“We hope the authorities will take action against Anwar,” he said.

Ashraf said Anwar has also talked repeatedly about how the present government led by Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin would fall.

“In the end, he could not even prove that he had the necessary support.

“The last thing the country needs right now is a power struggle,” he added.

On Tuesday (Oct 13), Comptroller of the Royal Household of Istana Negara Datuk Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin said that the Port Dickson MP had only presented the number, but not the names of MPs who he claimed supported him as the next prime minister.

“Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah Ibni Almarhum Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta’in Billah had an audience with Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim at Istana Negara at 11am on Oct 13, ” said Fadil in a statement on Tuesday.

“This meeting was initially scheduled for Sept 22 but was postponed due to Al-Sultan Abdullah’s illness during which he was treated at National Heart Institute (IJN) between Sept 21 and Oct 3.

“During the audience, which lasted 25 minutes, Anwar presented the total number of Dewan Rakyat members whom he claimed supported him.

“However, he did not present the names to support his claim.

“Therefore, Al-Sultan Abdullah had advised Anwar to follow and respect the legal process as stated in the Federal Constitution, ” said Fadil, adding that the King was also worried about the Covid-19 situation in the country.-The Star
