KUALA LUMPUR, 13 August 2026 (The Capital Post) – The engagement session on proposed Budget 2027 initiatives with the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) was held on 12 August 2026, focusing on strategies to address cost-of-living challenges and strengthen consumer protection.
The session involved YB Senator Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan, Minister of Finance II, and YB Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali, Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living.
Discussions focused on detailed strategies and proactive measures by the MADANI Government to address cost-of-living pressures, while strengthening efforts to safeguard consumer welfare and rights.
The session also emphasised stronger enforcement measures to curb leakages involving controlled and subsidised goods, ensuring that Government assistance and subsidies continue to reach those who genuinely need them.

Also present were YBhg. Tan Sri Johan Mahmood Merican, Secretary-General of the Treasury; YBhg. Dato’ Seri Mohd Sayuthi Bakar, Secretary-General of KPDN; as well as senior officers from the Ministry of Finance (MoF) and KPDN, together with the Budget 2027 Team.
