CYBERJAYA, 7 August 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Ministry of Communications has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening Malaysia’s media industry through its annual grant assistance programme for 2026, aimed at supporting the development of media organisations, talent and industry capabilities.
According to a post on the official Facebook page of Kementerian Komunikasi, the meeting was held to coordinate the annual grant assistance for Institut Perhubungan Raya Malaysia (IPRM) and Malaysian Press Institute (MPI) for 2026.
The meeting was held to coordinate the annual grant allocations for the Institute of Public Relations Malaysia (IPRM) and the Malaysian Press Institute (MPI), in line with the decisions made during Meeting No. 1/2025.
The grants are intended to strengthen organisational development, human capital, training, infrastructure and programmes that benefit media practitioners in Malaysia.

In his remarks, Datuk Bahria expressed hope that the financial assistance would support the implementation of communication campaigns while enhancing the delivery of government policies and messages to the public through close collaboration among stakeholders.
Also present were Senior Undersecretary (Management) Datuk Aminurrahim Mohamed, Information Department Director-General Erwin Khairul Ahmad, IPRM President Jaffri Amin and MPI President Datuk Yong Soo Heong. – The Capital Post
