PUTRAJAYA, 25 September 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Ministry of Communications and the Southeast Asia Regional Centre for Counter-Terrorism (SEARCCT) have discussed strengthening cooperation in communications, information delivery and public awareness to counter extremist and terrorist narratives.
Communications Ministry Secretary-General Datuk Abdul Halim Hamzah received a courtesy visit from SEARCCT Director-General Datin Paduka Nur Ashikin Mohd. Taib at Menara Komunikasi.
The meeting focused on current issues related to terrorism prevention and ways to strengthen public communication efforts aimed at curbing the spread of extremist and violent narratives.
Both sides also discussed the role of effective information delivery and public awareness in supporting broader efforts to prevent the influence and circulation of harmful narratives.

Also present were Strategic and Corporate Communications Division Secretary Naim Fahmi Ahmad Tajuddin and Principal Assistant Secretary of the Policy and International Division Intan Nurul Azlina Ahmad Kamil.
