HANOI, 5 August 2026 (The Capital Post) – Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin has begun a two-day official visit to Vietnam aimed at strengthening bilateral defence cooperation between the two countries.
Khaled arrived at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi for his first official visit to Vietnam since assuming office as Defence Minister.
During the visit, he is scheduled to hold meetings with Vietnam’s Prime Minister Lê Minh Hưng and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence General Phan Văn Giang.
Malaysia and Vietnam share longstanding defence ties, with both countries renewing their Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on defence cooperation in December 2023, reaffirming their commitment to enhancing bilateral collaboration.

The visit is expected to further strengthen defence relations, expand opportunities for strategic cooperation and contribute to regional peace and stability.
