Deputy Minister collapses in Parliament, sitting temporarily adjourned

KUALA LUMPUR: Deputy Communications and Multimedia Minister Eddin Syazlee Shith suddenly fainted and collapsed in the Dewan Rakyat Monday (Nov 11), and the sitting was temporarily adjourned.

The incident happened at about 10.30am during Question Time, when Deputy Housing and Local Government Minister Datuk Raja Kamarul Bahrin Shah Raja Ahmad Baharuddin Shah was answering a supplementary question raised by Datuk Mohd Salim Mohd Sharif (BN-Jempol).

“I am adjourning Dewan Rakyat for a 10-minute break and requesting Parliament’s medical officer to enter and provide assistance,” Deputy Speaker Datuk Mohd Rashid Hasnon said.

Eddin is the Kuala Pilah MP from Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia.

This is the second time an MP has collapsed in Dewan Rakyat this year.
