Deputy PM Launches IGEM 2026, KL Sustainability Summit

KUALA LUMPUR, 8 October 2026 (The Capital Post) – Deputy Prime Minister and Energy Transition and Water Transformation Minister Datuk Amar Fadillah Yusof officiated the International Greentech and Eco Products Exhibition and Conference Malaysia 2026 (IGEM 2026) and Kuala Lumpur Sustainability Summit 2026 (KLSS 2026) at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) on Thursday.

Held under the theme “Race Towards Net Zero: Action Beyond Boundaries”, the two events bring together global experts, policymakers, innovators and investors to advance climate action strategies and accelerate the transition towards a more sustainable future.

Organised by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability (NRES) in collaboration with the Malaysian Green Technology and Climate Change Corporation (MGTC), the platforms aim to strengthen international cooperation and encourage practical solutions to address climate change.

The events also support the implementation of several key national policies, including the National Climate Change Policy 2.0 (NCCP 2.0), National Carbon Market Policy (NCMP) and National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR).

These initiatives form part of Malaysia’s broader efforts to strengthen environmental sustainability, promote green technology development and advance its transition towards a low-carbon economy.

Also present at the opening ceremony were Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Minister Datuk Seri Arthur Joseph Kurup, Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming, Deputy Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Minister Syed Ibrahim Syed Noh, alongside dignitaries, strategic partners and invited guests.
