KUCHING, 11 September 2026 (The Capital Post) – Malaysia is accelerating the transformation of public services through innovation, technology and artificial intelligence (AI) as the country advances towards its AI Nation 2030 aspiration.
Deputy Digital Minister YB Datuk Wilson Ugak Kumbong officiated the Digital Government Exchange 2026 (DGX26) at voco Kuching, Sarawak, on Thursday.
Organised by Sarawak Information Systems Sdn Bhd (SAINS), the programme brought together government leaders, technology experts and industry representatives to exchange experiences, challenge perspectives and explore new opportunities to strengthen public service delivery.
DGX26 carries the theme “Accelerating Public Services through Innovation, Technology, and Human Collaboration”.
Digital Ministry Secretary-General Datuk Fabian Bigar participated in the DGX26 Marquee Panel Session alongside government leaders and technology experts from Malaysia, Sarawak and Singapore.

Moderated by Digital News Asia Chief Executive Officer Karamjit Singh, the session explored people-centred approaches, ASEAN regional cooperation, strong economic governance, trusted technology infrastructure and the use of AI to improve quality of life.
The programme highlighted the importance of combining innovation, technology and human collaboration to transform public services and support Malaysia’s ambition to harness AI in shaping the future of government service delivery.
SAINS Chairman Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Dr. George Chan Hong Nam was also present.
