SEBERANG PERAI SELATAN, July 27, 2026 (The Capital Post) – Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to advancing education reform, with the implementation of the 2027 School Curriculum set to begin next year for Year 1 and Form 1 students.
She said preparations for the new curriculum, as well as early enrolment for Year 1 pupils, are currently underway at all levels following the rollout of the new preschool curriculum.
According to Fadhlina, the reforms are guided by the Malaysia Education Plan (RPM) 2026–2035, which serves as the country’s strategic roadmap to enhance the quality of national education.
Speaking after attending the Ministry of Education’s (KPM) TEKAD Programme at the Seberang Perai Selatan district level on Monday, she said the initiative serves as a bridge between the ministry, the education community and the public.
She noted that the programme enables KPM to communicate its policies and initiatives directly to educators and the wider community, helping to foster a better understanding of the ministry’s education agenda.

Fadhlina stressed that the success of the national education reform depends on the collective participation and support of all stakeholders.
She said the government aims to build a stronger and more inclusive education ecosystem by working together to provide better opportunities for Malaysia’s future generations.
According to a post on the official Facebook page of Fadhlina Sidek, the minister attended the KPM TEKAD Programme in Seberang Perai Selatan, Penang, to engage with the education community and share updates on the ministry’s ongoing education reform initiatives.- The Capital Post
