PETALING JAYA, July 27, 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) paid tribute to outgoing Deputy Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay during a ceremonial “Dining Out” dinner held at Sunway Resort Hotel, Bandar Sunway, in conjunction with his retirement after 35 years of service.
The event was hosted by the PDRM Senior Officers’ Mess and attended by Inspector-General of Police (IGP) and President of the PDRM Mess, IG Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Hj. Mohd Khalid Hj. Ismail, together with his wife, Puan Sri Datuk (Dr.) Hjh. Munirah Che Rose, who is also the Chairperson of the Police Family Association (PERKEP) Malaysia.
Held under the theme “Leadership Defined, Legacy Endures,” the ceremony recognised Tan Sri Ayob Khan’s distinguished career, highlighting his integrity, principled leadership and unwavering commitment to safeguarding national security.
In his address, Mohd Khalid described Ayob Khan as a firm and outspoken leader who consistently upheld the rule of law with professionalism and integrity, regardless of rank or status. He said the event’s theme reflected the enduring legacy left by leaders whose values and contributions continue to inspire future generations of police officers.
Ayob Khan, in his farewell speech, reminded members of the police force to remain grounded in serving the public.

“The public does not judge how many stars are on our shoulders. They judge how fairly we act,” he said.
The evening also featured a special video presentation commemorating Ayob Khan’s three-and-a-half decades of service, followed by the presentation of commemorative gifts in recognition of his dedication and contributions to the force.
Among those present were Acting Deputy Inspector-General of Police and Special Branch Director Dato’ Sri Ibrahim Darus, senior PDRM directors and deputy directors, the Commissioners of Police for Sabah and Sarawak, state police chiefs, and retired members of the force.
According to a post on the official Facebook page of Polis Diraja Malaysia (Royal Malaysia Police), the ceremony was held to honour Tan Sri Ayob Khan’s longstanding service and contributions to PDRM as he concludes his policing career. – The Capital Post
