Batu Pahat 6 May 2026 (The Capital Post) – A grieving father has chosen to forgive the van driver involved in the accident that claimed the life of his eight-year-old daughter outside a school in Johor.
The victim, Nur Aini Umairah Mohd Fareez, was killed after being struck by a van near the entrance of a primary school in Parit Sulong.
Her father, Ahmad Fareez Khalid, said the family has accepted the tragedy as fate and urged the public not to direct anger towards the driver.
“We have already forgiven him… there is no need for others to continue blaming him. Have some compassion,” he said, adding that the incident was unforeseen and no one would have wanted it to happen.

The victim’s mother shared that she had arrived shortly after the incident and was informed of the tragedy upon seeing a crowd gathered at the scene. She said her daughter would usually wait inside the school compound, and it was unclear why she had been outside on that day.
The heartbreaking incident has drawn public sympathy, with many praising the family’s strength and compassion despite their loss.
Authorities are continuing investigations into the accident, while the case has also sparked renewed calls for enhanced safety measures around school zones to prevent similar tragedies.-The Capital Post
