HKL upgrade works near completion, says KKM

Kuala Lumpur, 24 June 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Ministry of Health (KKM) continues to strengthen healthcare infrastructure with ongoing upgrade works at Hospital Kuala Lumpur (HKL), including improvements to the Emergency and Trauma Department and the construction of the National Forensic Medicine Institute.

According to information from Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia, the Ministry of Health Secretary-General, YBhg. Datuk Seri Hj. Hasnol Zam Zam bin Hj. Ahmad, conducted a working visit to HKL today to review the progress of both projects.

Upon arrival, he was briefed and taken on a site visit to assess the current status of implementation, including construction progress and planning to ensure completion within the scheduled timeline.

Both projects are currently in their final stages of implementation and are expected to further strengthen healthcare service delivery, as well as enhance HKL’s capacity to provide more efficient, safe and high-quality emergency and forensic services to the public.

KKM reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that healthcare infrastructure development is implemented effectively in line with the growing needs of the national health system.
