DAMANSARA DAMAI, Selangor, 9 August 2026 (The Capital Post) – Digital Minister YB Gobind Singh Deo today launched Jelajah Malaysia Digital (JMD) 2026 at the Damansara Damai Community Hall, marking the first stop of a nationwide roadshow aimed at bringing digital skills, technology, career opportunities and entrepreneurship closer to Malaysians.
Organised by the Ministry of Digital through Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), JMD 2026 serves as a platform to expand public access to digital skills, emerging technologies and economic opportunities while encouraging communities to explore new careers, generate income and grow businesses within the digital economy.
Aligned with the Malaysia Digital 2030 (MD2030) agenda, the roadshow focuses on four key areas — Digital Literacy and Ethics, Digital Careers, Digital Freelancing, and Digital Business and Entrepreneurship.
For the Damansara Damai edition, emphasis was placed on empowering local entrepreneurs through the adoption of digital technology to improve productivity, expand market reach and attract new customers.
The programme featured practical workshops, industry-sharing sessions, demonstrations involving artificial intelligence (AI), robotics and drones, live-selling sessions as well as a local entrepreneurs’ bazaar.
JMD 2026 also supported the growth of local digital companies through the presentation of the Malaysia Digital Catalyst Grant (MDCG) and Digital Content Grant Programme (DCGP) to seven local companies.

The grants are aimed at supporting innovation, intellectual property (IP) development and the growth of Malaysia’s digital industry.
With a target of reaching 500,000 people through physical and online participation throughout the nationwide roadshow, JMD 2026 reflects the government’s continued efforts to make the benefits of digital transformation more accessible, empower talents and entrepreneurs, and support Malaysia’s aspiration to become an AI Nation by 2030.
Also present were Digital Ministry Secretary-General Datuk Fabian Bigar and MDEC Chief Executive Officer Anuar Fariz Fadzil.
According to a post on the official Facebook page of Kementerian Digital, JMD 2026 is part of ongoing efforts to ensure Malaysians are equipped to participate in and benefit from the country’s growing digital economy. – The Capital Post
