KESUMA, TalentCorp Strengthen Malaysian Diaspora Engagement in Indonesia

JAKARTA, 7 October 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Ministry of Human Resources (KESUMA) and Talent Corporation Malaysia Berhad (TalentCorp) are strengthening engagement with the Malaysian diaspora in Indonesia to support national talent and economic development.

Human Resources Minister Dato’ Sri Ramanan Ramakrishnan attended the Salam Dari Malaysia @ Jakarta programme on 6 October during his working visit to the Indonesian capital.

The programme aimed to strengthen ties with Malaysian talent based in Indonesia while encouraging greater diaspora participation through the sharing of experience, expertise and international networks.

The event also saw the launch of guidelines for Entry Permit applications under the Returning Expert Programme (REP), developed through cooperation between TalentCorp and the Immigration Department of Malaysia.

The guidelines provide clearer information on the Entry Permit application process for foreign spouses and biological children below the age of 18 of REP recipients, including eligibility requirements, required documents and application procedures.

The programme also served to strengthen ties between KESUMA, TalentCorp and the Malaysian community in Indonesia.

Also present were members of the Malaysian community in Indonesia and representatives from the Embassy of Malaysia in Jakarta, Malaysia Chamber of Commerce Indonesia (MCCI), Malaysian student associations and strategic partners.
