MELAKA 28 July 2026, (The Capital Post) – The Secretary-General of the Ministry of Higher Education (KPT), YBhg. Datuk Ts. Dr. Haji Aminuddin Hassim, conducted a working visit to Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM) on 27 July 2026 to review the university’s development agenda and ensure the implementation of KPT policies and initiatives continues to be strengthened at the institutional level.
The visit began with a briefing session delivered by UTeM Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Datuk Ts. Dr. Massila Kamalrudin, who presented the university’s strategic direction as well as research and innovation initiatives aligned with the aspirations of the national higher education sector.
During the session, UTeM also highlighted its current achievements, development plans involving infrastructure projects, financial position and staffing matters. The presentation provided an overview of the university’s efforts in enhancing academic excellence and strengthening its role as a leading technical institution.
Datuk Ts. Dr. Haji Aminuddin Hassim later toured several key university facilities, including the solar panel construction site, student residential colleges, research laboratories and learning facilities that support the advancement of technical education in Malaysia.

He also officiated the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the UTeM Nursery and Kindergarten, which will provide early childhood care and education facilities for the university community.
The KPT Secretary-General expressed confidence that UTeM, as a leading technical university, has the expertise and capabilities to continue contributing to national development through impactful research, technological innovation and the production of highly skilled graduates who meet industry demands.
