KUSKOP Strengthens Support For Hawkers And Small Traders Through M3PK Meeting

GEORGE TOWN, 15 May, 2026 (The Capital Post)Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (KUSKOP) held the National-Level Hawkers and Small Traders Consultation Meeting (M3PK) 2026 in Penang today as part of efforts to strengthen the resilience and development of micro, small and medium enterprises (PMKS).

According to information shared on the official Facebook page of Kementerian Pembangunan Usahawan dan Koperasi, the meeting was chaired by Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister, Steven Sim Chee Keong.

The session served as an important platform to discuss current issues, challenges and the needs of hawkers and small traders, while also strengthening the resilience of PMKS amid economic uncertainties following the global supply crisis.

During the event, Steven Sim also presented letters and appointment certificates for the 2026–2028 M3PK session to entrepreneurship EXCO representatives from Perak, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, Kedah and Terengganu.

KUSKOP said it will continue intensifying engagement sessions with state governments, relevant agencies and industry players to ensure efforts to empower small entrepreneurs can be implemented effectively and benefit hawkers and small traders nationwide.

Also present were Deputy Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister, Mohamad Alamin; KUSKOP secretary-general, Khairul Dzaimee Daud; as well as senior ministry and agency officials. – The Capital Post
