CHENDERIANG, 10 May 2026 (The Capital Post) — Lifebuoy Malaysia has launched its “Kekal Segar & Bersih” campaign aimed at improving hygiene access and sanitation awareness among underserved communities across the country.
The initiative, carried out in collaboration with Watsons Malaysia and HOPE worldwide Malaysia, officially began with a community outreach programme at Kampung Bindu, Chenderiang, involving Orang Asli families and local residents. The campaign is expected to benefit more than 2,300 underserved families nationwide through hygiene education, sanitation support and the distribution of essential care packs.
As part of the programme, Lifebuoy and its partners will provide 10 sanitation facilities and distribute hygiene kits featuring Lifebuoy products formulated with 10x Germ Protection across several locations including Perak, Seremban, Melaka, Penang, Gerik and Kuching.
Skin Cleansing Lead of Unilever Malaysia, Siti Suhaila Abd Hamid, said the campaign reflects Lifebuoy’s long-standing commitment towards promoting hygiene awareness and improving access to proper sanitation facilities.
She said the initiative goes beyond supplying hygiene products by empowering communities with knowledge and healthy habits that can help protect lives for future generations.
During the launch event, more than 150 residents from Kampung Bindu and Kampung Landor participated in educational activities and hygiene awareness sessions. Two community toilets and four household toilets sponsored by Lifebuoy Malaysia were also handed over to families lacking proper sanitation access.
The programme also featured interactive demonstrations and learning activities designed to educate families and children on how germs spread and the importance of maintaining good hygiene practices in daily life. Residents additionally received hygiene kits, body wash products and daily necessities, including groceries valued at RM69,000.
Meanwhile, HOPE worldwide Malaysia Country Director Darick Wong said access to proper sanitation and hygiene knowledge plays an important role in improving the overall well-being of communities.
Apart from community outreach efforts, the campaign also introduced a Train-the-Trainer programme to equip NGO volunteers with the skills and resources needed to continue delivering hygiene education programmes within their respective communities nationwide. -The Capital Post
