Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Azam Ismail said the couple went to the shop at about 5.40pm on Saturday (Aug 26) and told one of the workers that they wanted to buy a ring.

“The female suspect then asked the worker to show her three rings, which were placed on a tray on a counter while also trying on a bracelet.

“In the end, the woman and her boyfriend decided to buy a ring, which was priced at RM308. However, they changed their minds when the payment via bank transfer did not go through.

“They left and that was when the goldsmith worker noticed that a bracelet that cost RM618 was missing,” he said in a statement on Tuesday (Aug 29).

The investigation led police to arrest a 35-year-old man, who works as a delivery rider and a 26-year-old woman, who was a textile worker at Bandar Saujana Putra, Jenjarom at 9.30pm on Monday (Aug 28), ACP Mohd Azam said.
