SEOUL, 24 August 2026 (The Capital Post) – Malaysia and South Korea are strengthening cooperation in the creative industry through a knowledge-sharing programme focusing on technology, innovation, intellectual property and industry financing.
Deputy Secretary-General (Strategic Communications and Creative Industry) Datuk Bahria Mohd Tamil led the Malaysian delegation at the 2025/2026 Knowledge Sharing Programme (KSP) between Korea-Malaysia: Interim Reporting and Policy Practitioners’ Workshop held in Seoul from 17 to 21 August 2026.
Organised by the Korea Development Institute (KDI) and the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Korea, the programme was held in conjunction with the 40th anniversary of the Look East Policy.
Under the theme “Strategies to Elevate and Enhance Malaysia’s Creative Industry”, the programme focused on strengthening Malaysia’s creative industry ecosystem through the adoption of technology and content innovation, intellectual property protection, industry financing and heritage-based storytelling.

The Malaysian delegation included National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (FINAS) Chief Executive Officer Dato’ Azmir Saifuddin Mutalib; MyCreative Ventures Group representative Muhammad Nadzmi Musa; academics Prof. Andrew Kam Jia Yi, Associate Professor Verly Veto Vermol and Dr. Janice Lim; as well as Ministry of Communications project officers Noreen Iszani Yusak and Nur Sakinah Mohd Abas.
The Korean side was led by KDI Centre for International Development Director Song Chang Hong.
According to a post on the official Facebook page of the Ministry of Communications, the programme provided a platform for Malaysia and South Korea to share knowledge and policy perspectives on strengthening the creative industry. – The Capital Post
