Malaysia, Korea Strengthen Creative Industry Collaboration

KUALA LUMPUR, 16 July 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Ministry of Communications reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening Malaysia’s creative industry through international collaboration during the closing session of the Korea–Malaysia Knowledge Sharing Programme 2025/2026.

The closing ceremony, held at Menara Komunikasi, was attended by the ministry’s Deputy Secretary-General (Strategic Communications and Creative Industry), Datuk Bahria Mohd Tamil.

The three-day programme, held from 13 to 15 July, brought together representatives from various ministries, government agencies and industry players, including the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Ministry of Digital, National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (FINAS), MyCreative Ventures Group, Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), Astro Shaw and Cradle Fund.

The programme provided a platform for participants to exchange views on the current landscape and future development of Malaysia’s creative industry.

The Republic of Korea delegation comprised representatives from the Korea Development Institute, which coordinated the programme, alongside researchers from Seoul National University, Dongduk Women’s University and Sookmyung Women’s University. They were joined by three local researchers and industry experts from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and Institut Seni Kreatif Nusantara, Universiti Teknologi MARA (INSAN UiTM), who shared expertise, best practices and strategic recommendations to further strengthen Malaysia–Korea cooperation.
