KUALA LUMPUR, 26 May 2026 (The Capital Post) — Defence Minister Mohamed Khaled Nordin today received a courtesy visit from United Nations (UN) Under-Secretary-General for Peace Operations Jean-Pierre François Renaud Lacroix at Wisma Pertahanan.
During the meeting, both parties discussed Malaysia’s involvement in UN peacekeeping and security operations, including the country’s continued commitment as a Troop Contributing Country (TCC).
The discussions also touched on opportunities for Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) officers to serve in leadership positions within UN missions, the handover of TIBNIN and HARIS Camps to the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF), as well as coordination involving the Task Force Repatriation Group (TFRG).
Both sides expressed their commitment to further strengthen cooperation in peacekeeping operations and support international peace and security efforts.

Also present during the meeting were Armed Forces Chief General Malek Razak Sulaiman, Deputy Secretary-General (Policy) Datuk Mohd Yani Daud, senior officials from the Ministry of Defence and ATM, as well as members of the UN delegation.
