PUTRAJAYA, 26 May 2026 (The Capital Post) — The Ministry of Home Affairs (KDN), through the National Strategic Office of the Anti-Trafficking in Persons and Anti-Smuggling of Migrants Council (NSO MAPO), today received a courtesy visit from Australia’s Ambassador to Counter Modern Slavery, People Smuggling and Human Trafficking, Jane Duke, from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) Australia.
The Australian delegation also included representatives from DFAT, the Australian High Commission, the Department of Home Affairs, Australian Border Force and the Australian Federal Police.
Representatives from KDN’s International Division, Security and Public Order Division, as well as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, were also present during the engagement session chaired by NSO MAPO Division Secretary Marweena Manan.
During the session, both parties discussed several strategic issues of mutual concern, including human trafficking, migrant smuggling, online fraud crimes such as job scams, and modern slavery within the global supply chain.

Malaysia reaffirmed its commitment to continue working closely with Australia in strengthening bilateral and regional mechanisms to combat cross-border crimes and enhance security cooperation.
The ministry noted that stronger international collaboration remains essential in addressing increasingly complex transnational crime challenges affecting the region.
