PETALING JAYA: Satellite communications company Measat Global announced via press release that it is now an official authorised reseller for Starlink following the signing of an agreement with SpaceX last December.
Measat’s official authorised reseller status will have the company offer Starlink hardware and services to the existing markets that it serves, which includes 130 countries across Asia, Africa, Europe, and Australia.
Its appointment will also allow Starlink to leverage Measat’s existing presence in the local market, particularly in regard to customer service, technical support, logistics, along with on-site repair and maintenance.
The chief commercial officer of Measat, Ganendra Selvaraj, says that the addition of Starlink to the existing Measat Connectme Now satellite broadband service would enhance high-speed Internet services for the last 3% of Malaysians without access to terrestrial network connections.
“We have always been open to working with other entities to deliver the benefits of satellite technology to our customers which include government agencies, commercial enterprises and rural residents via a diverse portfolio of solutions to meet evolving needs,” he says in the press release.
It would also further allow Measat to expands its fit-for-purpose, high-availability service offerings to clients in the oil and gas, maritime, and enterprise sectors.
“Our new status as an Official Authorised Reseller for Starlink marks a milestone in our ongoing growth journey, being the first non-geostationary orbit (NGSO) satellite products offered through our on-ground network, as we continue exploring other potential NGSO solutions for our suite of services,” he adds.
