KUALA LUMPUR, 28 September 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Malaysia International Craft Fair (MICF) 2026 is creating new opportunities for local craft entrepreneurs to connect with international buyers while showcasing Malaysia’s textile, cultural and heritage traditions.
A networking dinner held in conjunction with MICF 2026 at Hotel Royale Chulan Kuala Lumpur on 27 September was officiated by Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) Secretary-General Dato’ Shaharuddin bin Abu Sohot.
The event featured business matching sessions involving craft entrepreneurs and international corporate buyers from the United States, Mauritius, Qatar, Australia, France, South Korea, the United Arab Emirates and the Philippines.
A textile craft showcase themed “Threads of Heritage” presented 33 fashion collections by local and international craft entrepreneurs as well as Malaysian craft designers.
Craft demonstrations featuring batik, Seni Tampal Selit, rattan weaving and ceramics were also held as part of the programme.

Held under the theme “Crafting Heritage, Inspiring Tomorrow”, MICF 2026 highlights Malaysia’s textile heritage alongside international textile traditions while creating a platform for commercial and cultural exchange.
The fair runs from 24 September to 5 October at Kompleks Kraf Kuala Lumpur, from 10am to 10pm.
