SELANGOR, 29 August 2026 (The Capital Post) – Secretary-General of the Ministry of Defence Malaysia, Datuk Lokman Hakim Ali, today took part in a training flight aboard a Royal Malaysian Air Force (TUDM) Su-30MKM fighter aircraft as part of preparations for the 2026 National Day aerial display in Putrajaya.
The participation gave him an opportunity to directly assess the capabilities of the air asset in an operational context, including its level of readiness, execution effectiveness, reliability and sustainability in meeting operational requirements.
The experience also provided an important perspective in assessing how defence investments are translated into tangible, relevant and effective capabilities for the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM).
The involvement reflects the Ministry of Defence’s approach of emphasising alignment between strategic planning, capability development and operational realities, while ensuring that defence decisions and investments contribute to the ATM’s long-term readiness.
