UNITED KINGDOM, 23 July 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) continued its strategic engagement programme at the Farnborough International Airshow (FIA) 2026 through a series of bilateral meetings with leading global defence and aerospace companies.
The Malaysian delegation was led by Ministry of Defence Secretary-General Datuk Lokman Hakim Ali and Royal Malaysian Air Force Chief General Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Haji Muhamad Norazlan Aris.
On the second day of FIA 2026, the delegation held discussions with representatives from IPT (United States), Gulfstream (United States), Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) (Republic of Korea), RTX Pratt & Whitney (United States), Turkish Aerospace Industries (Türkiye), Saab (Sweden), Rolls-Royce (United Kingdom), and Lockheed Martin (United States).
The meetings focused on the implementation status of ongoing cooperation programmes and defence asset procurement, while also reviewing advancements in technology, maintenance capabilities, lifecycle asset support, and opportunities for new collaborations.

MINDEF said the engagements are aimed at strengthening the operational readiness of the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) while supporting the growth and development of Malaysia’s domestic defence industry.
The ministry added that the engagements reflect its continued commitment to enhancing strategic partnerships with global industry players in line with the aspirations of the National Defence Industry Policy (DIPN).
According to a post on the official Facebook page of Kementerian Pertahanan Malaysia, the strategic meetings form part of Malaysia’s ongoing efforts to deepen international defence cooperation and strengthen national defence capabilities. – The Capital Post.
